Staff from engineering specialist Pod-Trak say they have been overwhelmed by the response to its Christmas toys appeal.
The company, that supports the broad spectrum of transport networks keeping the country moving, has raised over £7,000 in toys and gifts to help children across the country wake up to presents on Christmas.
All the toys have been delivered over the last few days to Manchester Youth Zone, The Hive Youth Zone Wirral and the Salvation Army in West Ealing and Greenford.
Stephen Given, Pod-Trak‘s Operations Director in the North, said: “We’d like to thank everyone who has donated toys and money over the past few weeks, which are being delivered to those most in need.
“Every single present will make a massive difference to the children who receive them on Christmas morning – children that otherwise would have nothing.”
The toy appeal was set up after Stephen’s daughter Lily was on Facetime with her cousin discussing their Christmas letters to Santa and what they would like.
It got them thinking that this year, especially with the pandemic, many children face the prospect of nothing on Christmas morning.
Stephen said: “Massive thanks to everyone who has helped along the way over the past few weeks and to our charity partners who are making sure the toys make their way to those that need them most.”
